Biennale Policies
In order to participate in our annual Biennale dancers must be registered before February 1st 2026. Dances who join after this date may take class, but not participate in the end of the year show.
Each dancer must pay their Participation Fee of $100, failure to do so will result in not being able to participate on Show Day or Photo Week.
If for any reason other than medical or family emergency the dancer drops out of the show there is a drop out fee of $125 that must be paid 30 days after drop out, auto pay will process automatically on your portal.
​If a costume is paid after November 1st there is a $20 late processing fee per costume. *No refunds are available for costume fees or participation fee. Shoes and tights will be needed to be purchased separately by each family for the performance. Each class may require different shoes and tights.
Each family is responsible for tights, a nude leotard, hair pins, and any other needed item for show day. All female dancers must wear a nude leotard under their costume. All male dancers must wear a white or black tank or undershirt under their costume.
If the dancer(s) is absent on their photo day it is up to the parent to ask for make-up photos, understanding their child will not be in group photos.

All photos may be used for promotional use on websites or social media or any other promotion Step In Motion Dance sees fit, unless an agreement is signed to keep photos private with the photographer on Photo Week.
No personal backpacks, makeup bags, etc will be allowed. Only 1 Mesh pop up hamper labeled Ziplock's containing shoes, snack, accessories, generic water bottle, or lipstick. All dancers must have 1 pop up mesh hamper regardless of how many dances they are participating in.
It is important that non volunteer parents do not take their child at any point during dress rehearsal or show day. Please do not attempt to take dancers during intermission as all dancers will bow together at the end of the show.
Dancers will be signed in and out with SMD Staff or Volunteer. Failure to follow rules from a dance family may result in being asked to leave with no refund.
Be sure this bag has non sticky or messy snacks. We suggest pretzels, crackers, bananas, apples, cheese sticks and plain salted chips. Add a non-spill water bottle labeled with their name to dancers' hampers. No other drinks will be permitted to be sure dancers stay clean for the show. Note Step in Motion Dance is not responsible for lost or stolen items during the dress rehearsal or show.

Dancers shouldn’t miss more than a total of 5 classes after February 1st until recital day. This is because we are working hard on their recital numbers and want to be sure they feel confident on stage on their big day.
If a dancer misses more than 5 classes after February 1st they will not be able to participate in recital. No refunds for costume or recital fee will be given. The dancer may continue learning in class with the understanding that they will not participate in the annual recital. The dancer may also participate in photo day. If the family chooses to withdraw the dancer from class the recital drop out fee of $125 will be charged.
